不思議な事にこのごく初期の、1968年型でも最新のMAXでも、737の操縦室は風景が余り変わらないものです。米国連邦航空局によると、この100型でもMAXでも一応、同じ限定免許で運転できる事にはなっていますが、勿論実際には特別な訓練が必要となります。それにしてもスペリーのSP77型自動操縦装置、自動方向探知機、コリンズ製のVバー式のフライトデイレクターなどなど。懐かしい装備の数々。それにしてもJT8Dの7Aパワーは夏場や高地ではさぞかし非力だったと察します。性能上の要求から、気温が上がるとお客さん下ろすか、荷物を下ろすか、はたまた途中でテックストップするか。そういう時代でしたから。撮影年月日はおおよそです。It's hard to believe, but the -100 and the latest MAX share a common type rating, allowing them to act as a captain in command in both variants (at least that's what the law dictates)—Sperry SP77 autopilot, classic ADF indicator, and V-Bar type Collins flight director. Bring back memories. -7A must have been extremely underpowered in the summertime or at higher elevations. You must bump the pax/cargo or additional tech stop along the way. These were the days..
